Mademoiselle Violette DUPONT was the first to introduce the breed into France and onto the Continent. She created the " Club des Chiens du Tibet " on the 26th February 1960. The first meeting took place on the 5th March at " La Regence " coffee-house, Place du Theatre Français in Paris. In that meeting many connoisseurs and personalities were present, amongst them : Col. and Hon. Mrs. BAILEY, Lady Freda VALENTINE, Mrs HARDING, Mme. NIZET de LEEMAN, Mme. LETARD (wife of Prof. LETARD of Maison Alfort one of the major Veterinary Schools in France-), Under the affix " ANNAPURNA " Mademoiselle DUPONTs Lhasas, issued from a Tibetan origin male " XERES " and " Hamilton Kangmar " were very much appreciated by genuin fanciers. |
